    1. Wrap the cuff around the upper arm about (2-3) cm above the elbow, place the cuff directly on the skin, because the presence of clothing will degrade the pulse reading and lead to measurement error, degrade the pulse reading and lead to measurement error. Shoulder compression due to a folded shirt sleeve may interfere with accurate measurements.
    2. Secure the cuff with Velcro so that it fits snugly and is not too tight.
    3. Place your arm on a table (palm up) so that the cuff is at heart level. Make sure the tube is not bent or kinked.
